Our Take on the Wolverine Carlsbad Work Boot
When we first laced up the Wolverine Men’s Carlsbad Waterproof 6″ Work Boot, we could tell it was built with long days in mind, not just good photos on a product page. The leather felt sturdy yet surprisingly flexible, and the waterproof membrane held up to puddles and wet grass during our field tests. We appreciated the cushioned insole, which offered solid support without feeling bulky or stiff. Traction on slick concrete and loose gravel was dependable, thanks to the lugged outsole that gripped without packing up with mud. That said, this isn’t the lightest boot in its class, and those used to sneaker-like work footwear may notice the extra weight. Overall, the Carlsbad strikes us as a reliable, no-nonsense option for tradespeople who prioritize durability and weather protection.
