When we first laced up the KEEN Utility Men’s Kenton Mid Composite Toe Work Sneakers, we were curious whether they could really bridge the gap between jobsite protection and everyday comfort. On paper, the Kenton Mid promises the sturdiness of a work boot wrapped in the casual look and feel of a sneaker. In practice, we found that description surprisingly accurate, though not without a few trade-offs. The composite toe, slip-resistant outsole, and mid-height support give us the confidence we expect from a work-ready shoe, while the lighter weight and flexible upper make long shifts feel less punishing. In this review, we break down where these sneakers excel, where they fall short, and who we think will get the most value out of them.
