I’m a mechanic and use the timberland pros, I’ve had the same issue with the sole cracking. Keep your receipt, They have a 1 year warranty.

Invest in your work, replace boots every 6-8 months.
Don't have boondocks but have the Hyperion. Pretty good boot but better insole would be great
your typical yellow timbs are a quick 3 months and they come apart,need pro's for work it looks like the others are just for show
I just trashed my 4th or 5th pair of boondocks. I got 2 years out of the last pair. I get 9 -15 months out of them on average. I'm a concrete pump operator so I walk through mud and concrete daily, constantly walking as an operator. I do more mechanic work now on the equipment and less pumping so I was thinking about buying the timberland pit boss boots. A good bit cheaper and look lighter than the boondocks. Boondocks are rugged boots and last in our industry.
Tbh, they can end up like Wolverines & just keep going. I had one pair that only lasted a year, & then another pair of the same make lasted over 2 years. They're still going strong. Basically one pair is made in a factory to pocket coin, & the other is made at a sweatshop…
Had my pair of 6 inch boondocks for nearly 2 years. I'm 260 lbs and drive truck and unload freight. Outstanding boot, I'm gonna give the power welt a try this time. The boondocks are amazing but a bit bulky. That was my only complaint because it is hard to shift my bike riding to and from work.

-Buy a horse hair brush and use warm soapy water on Friday night. Remove laces…Scrub them and paper towel them off…let dry. Apply dubbin oil with an old tooth brush to the welts, seams and lace eyelets. Use a polish cloth to Rub the excess into the remainder of the boot. Let dry again. Sunday night use a longer/bigger horse hair brush to buff the entire surface. (I use oxy-clean on my laces in a jar) the uppers will last way longer and then a cobbler will resole the upper for $50-$70🇨🇦
My next boot will be Dayton boots )handmade … $800🇨🇦
The grid works are for irownworkers like myself. They are about half the price of my normal ironworker boot from Red Wings
As a plant operator I’m sure I’d get 4 years from a tim pro. No longer being exposed to chemicals that deteriorate leather and not a hard industry on boots.
The anti-fatigue sole in the Timberland pro Boondock is exactly what it says.
I bought my first pair at a swap meet for 80 bucks. I was so satisfied with them, I will not mind paying full price when I get a new pair.
Still have my first boondocks from a year ago and use them everyday 8 – 10 hour workdays. Half that time I worked in all 4 seasons outdoors doing electrical work. They look gnarly. Very worn in. Still %100 holding together 🤙

DAKOTA BOOT'S ARE NICE AN THEY MAKE AN PRETTY GOOD WINTER BOOT WITH AN COMPOSITE TOE. DUNLOP ANOTHER ONE AN LAST BUT NOT LEAST HELLY HANSEN. DAKOTA AN HELLY HANSEN ARE PRETTY MUCH THE ONLY COMPANY'S THAT MAKE AN EXTREME COLD WORK BOOT THAT HAS AN COMPOSITE SAFETY TOE.
Same boots, but I work manufacturing and production, wet environment so the water proofing will be put to the test but if you can get 9 months or so minimum then I'm satisfied,.. I get a new boot allowance annually, let's hope they don't change up the construction of the boots much year to year then 😉

I have the 8 inch version in their wheat color. I work in the landfill industry and do a ton of walking through mud, trash, gravel etc. These have held up perfectly for the last year. Their toe box and insole shock absorbers are by far the best I've ever seen in a boot. If you buy these you will not be disappointed.

I just stopped wearing boots the heel on them makes bending over back breaking. So I decided to wear my vans that I use for skating to work and they are a lot! Better than a heavy ass boot can’t believe i wore boots for 7 years!
